VISA APPLICATION
Generally, a citizen of a foreign country who wishes to enter the United States must first obtain a visa, either a non-immigrant visa for temporary stay, or an immigrant visa for permanent residence, Visitor visas are non-immigrant visas for persons who want to enter the United States temporarily for business (visa category B-1), tourism, pleasure or visiting (visa category B-2), or a combination of both purposes (B-1/B-2).
How to Apply
The 2025 Symposium on Sustainable Business Growth and Development organizing committee will provide assistance to foreign delegates who require Visa to enter the US.
The following are the documents that will be needed to commence with your visa application
- Completed DS-160 application form. This will be made available by the Attorney General after the confirmation of your registration
- Scanned copy of international passport data page, with at least six months validity.
- Two recent passport size photographs.
- Filled registration form for the SSBGD 2025 conference meeting.
- Hotel booking confirmation receipt.
- If going for vacation, please include length of service and vacation dates.
The processed documents will be sent to the United States Immigration Bureau for same day visa authorization. This will then be forwarded to the consular section of the US Embassy in participants' country of residence for clarification after the authorization of visa here in United States; this will include Visa Approval Letter with other necessary documents. A copy of the Visa Approval Letter will also be forwarded to delegates, who are to visit the US embassy on invitation for a brief interview before visa collection. Delegates will be given an appointment date by the Attorney General on when to visit the embassy for the collection of their visa
Entering the United States:
A visa allows a foreign citizen to travel to a U.S. port-of-entry (generally an airport) and request permission to enter the United States. A visa does not guarantee entry into the United States. The Department of Homeland Security (DHS), US Customs and Border Protection (CBP) officials at the port-of-entry have authority to permit or deny admission to the United States. If you are allowed to enter the United States, the CBP official will provide an admission stamp or a paper Form I-94, Arrival.Departure Record
Attend your Visa Interview
During your visa interview, a consular officer will determine whether you are qualified to receive a visa, and if so, which visa category is appropriate based on your purpose of travel. You will need to establish that you meet the requirements under US law to receive the category of visa for which you are applying. Since you will be coming to the US for the WFEBM conference, some requirements will not be applicable to you. Ink-free, digital fingerprint scans will be taken as part of your application process. They are usually taken during your interview, but this varies based on location
Visa Waiver Program
Most Canadian citizens and many citizens from Visa Waiver Program countries can come to the US without a visa if they meet certain requirements. Visa waiver travelers from ALL 27 Visa Waiver Program countries must present a machine-readable passport at the US port of entry to enter the US; otherwise a US visa is required. See important information about the 10..26..05 digital photograph and 10..26..06 e-passport requirements for VWP travelers. Other foreign citizens will need a non-immigrant visa
